Two CV inputs make it possible to modulate not only the amount of distortion but also the dry/wet-relation. The mix of both audio signals at the input is being split and sent to two signal paths: the unprocessed, clean path and the one distiortion ciruitry. The switch labeled INV / NON-INV betermines if the distorted signal has the same phase as the original signal or if it´s phase inverted, an aspect that can change the timbre.
If you´d like to use the module before a filter module in order to filter two oscillators, the two audio inputs come handy as you cyn leave out an additional mixer module. But the RS430 can be used anywhere in the signal path of course.
Patch hint for recerating the behaoviour of vintage synths that distorted more at higher signal levels: patch the VCA envelope simultaneously to the drive CV input of the RS430!
Usage with Eurorack:
Analogue Systems' modules are designed solely for use in cases and cabinets made by Analogue Systems. Through the use of adaptors or adaptor cables, however, it is possible to connect them to Eurorack cases.
Should you chose to use an Analogue Systems module in an Eurorack case, please note that the warranties are thus void and the use occurs at your own risk! If the module is plugged in incorrectly and therefore damaged the customer has to bear any costs for repair and shipping!
Because of the different position of the mounting holes there will be a gap of 0.5HP (= 2.5 mm) when mounting an Analogue Systems module next to a Eurorack module. Take this into consideration when planning your system. Gaps can be covered with 1.5HP wide blank panels by Doepfer.
Audio: two adjustable signal inputs, one adjustable signal output.
CV: one input vfor controlling dry/wet mix and one for controlling amount of distortion
