Metasonix – D-1000 Drum Machine
Posted on July 15, 2010 | No CommentsD-1000 Vacuum-Tube Drum Machine is the first drum machine made with vacuum tubes since the Wurlitzer Sideman of 1959.
Unlike the Sideman, it's a "modern" primitive device--with plenty of inputs, outputs, and flexibility.
Even though it has only four drum sounds -- two tunable drums, a tunable "snare" drum (harder sounding than the others), and a cymbal -- control voltage inputs give great flexibility.

Metasonix – R52 Multimode Filter

A pair of bandpass filters is swept with a Vactrol(tm) control element, a resonant treble filter and a less-resonant bass filter, giving a 4-pole lowpass response. Posted on July 15, 2010 | No Commentshe R-53 is directly derived from our legendary TM-1 device. It uses a 12AF6/BD6 remote-cutoff pentode and a 12AV7 dual triode. Waveshaping is provided by a vacuum-tube "pulser" circuit that spits irregular pulses onto the input waveform. They synchronize erratically with the input pitch (if a waveform with sharp transitions is used). Combined with true vacuum-tube circuit distortion, this can provide a vast range of complex, aggressive distortion effects, utterly unique in the world. Metasonix R-60 Self-Tuning MIDI-CV Interface
Posted on January 25, 2011 | No CommentsUnlike all the other MIDI/CV converters on the market, the R-60 tunes and scales itself. Plug the CV output into the CV input of your VCO, and plug the VCO output (square or pulse waves are best) into the audio input of the R-60. Push the LEARN button. That's all. It automatically sets itself up to control that VCO over the maximum possible range, in perfect equal tempering. The R-60 doesn't care what the CV response of the VCO is - exponential, Hz/V, whatever - it will try to tune it to equal tempering anyway.
