The three channels are identical. At the bottom of the module there are three buttons which manually switch between the inputs or (by longer pressing) add the two inputs. The inputs are DC coupled. So you can mix CV and / or audio signals as you like.
In Switch mode:
If the trigger / gate input being fed with triggers, the switchblade latches between the inputs.
If Gates are used, it will be a momentary switch. As long as the gate is high.
In mixer mode:
Here the trigger / gate input is used to mute the output.
A trigger activates the channel. Until the next trigger arrives.
A gate signal in turn activates the output for the length of the gate signal.
Multicolor LEDs give feedback about the operating status:
Red or green means that the switchblade is in Switch mode. Red means input 1 is routed to the output. Green means that input 2 is present at the output.
Orange or "Off" again means that the switchblade is in mixer mode. If the LED is off, the output is muted. If it lights orange, the mixed signal is being passed through.
Switchblade is a very practical and a wonderfully straightforward designed module.
Power consumption: 50 mA at +12 V and 10 mA at -12 V
