Noise Engineering - Ataraxic Translatron

The Ataraxic Translatron is a digital noise oscillator, similar to those in the first generation of home video game consoles like the Atari VCS or others. It creates 12 different sounds of those consoles and is great for chiptune music.

The module is, just like in the old video games, a linear feedback shift register that uses very little hardsware. It generates 12 sounds ranging from simple square wave to white noise with all other classic arcade sounds inbetween.

A 1V/octave input allows fr playing the oscillator tonally. Instead you can also use an external clock to drive the shift register´s tempo and thus the oscillatros´frequency.

Tone CV input, 1V/octave input. oscillator output

3U Eurorack module, 4HP wide, 26mm deep.
